Dr Tsui Wai Ling Carlye graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from The University of Hong Kong, and attained her Doctor in Professional Studies from Middlesex University. She is a Fellow of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors, Hong Kong Management Association, Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and The British Computer Society, Chartered Information Technology Professional, holder of Elite Diploma from the Global Directorship Programme. She is Chief Executive Officer of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors and an experienced Independent Non-Executive Director of listed and regulated companies.
Dr Tsui’s major service roles include Justice of the Peace, Member of Steering Committee of Asian Financial Forum, Executive Committee Member of Global Network of Director Institutes, Audit Committee Member of West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, Senior Council Advisor of Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and Chairman of the TOYPA (The Outstanding Young Persons Association) Trust.
Dr Tsui was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chung Ying Theatre Company, Founding Chairman of Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra Limited, Member of Urban Council, Member of Wan Chai District Council, Member of Communications Authority, and Chairman of The Outstanding Young Persons’ Association, among other roles.
Dr Tsui is a recipient of the following awards: Silver Bauhinia Star, Ten Outstanding Young Persons, IT Achiever of the Year, Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and Middlesex University Ken Goulding Award for the most outstanding professional Doctorate.
Dr Tsui takes an active interest in the arts of music, literature, drama and xiqu. In particular, she is passionately engaged in writing poems. She has been commissioned by major organisations to write epic poems in commemoration of anniversaries and major events. Her well-received publication Flying Across Heavens is a collection of Chinese poems written in traditional poetic styles to convey modern-day life and sentiments.
Dr Tsui now serves as Advisor of Chung Ying Theatre Company.
